PML-N unhappy over transfers in Centre and Sindh

Rana Sana ullahLahore: Calling the recent bureaucracy reshuffle in the Centre and Sindh a gimmick, former Punjab minister and PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah said Friday that the PPP’s handpicked officers were still serving in several important government departments, including the PM’s Secretariat.

“Elections cannot be fair unless the state media is made impartial,” he said in a statement. He said that people were right to raise eyebrows on the presence of PPP’s blue-eyed officials in the central and zonal offices of the Information Ministry even though the caretaker set-up was in place for almost a month now.

“Why there hasn’t been a shake-up in Information Departments of provinces other than Punjab? Are elections going to be held in Punjab alone?

Sanaullah said the PPP’s government had employed many party affiliates in PTV, adding, “These recruits are still projecting their masters’ interests in the channel.”

Similarly, he said, the DG of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation is a close friend of President Zardari although he did not deserve even a producer job. “The ECP must understand that like an interim government, an impartial state media is also a must to hold free and fair polls,” the former minister said.
