Lahore: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has managed 420 Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) in all Districts of the Punjab in last 24 hours, in which six precious lives were lost and 323 victims were seriously injured whereas 166 minor injured were provided first aid at the accidents site by rescue officials in all the Districts of Punjab.
These 420 accidents affected 75 pedestrians; 236 passengers and 196 drivers. Some 103 RTAs took place in Lahore placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 45 in Faisalabad, 28 in Multan and 26 in Gujranwala.
According to the data collected by Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Rescue 1122, out of total 489 RTA’s victims, 401 were males and 79 females, while age group of the victims show that 59 were under 18 year of age, 309 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 112 victims were reported above 40 years.
The vehicles involved in traffic accidents included motorbikes, auto rickshaws, motor cars, tractors, passenger buses, trucks, slow moving vehicles and other types of auto vehicles.
