KARACHI: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hasan has presented 3-point agenda for the progress and sovereignty of the country.
He announced the said agenda while addressing a here on Monday.
Ameer JI Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, Naib Ameer JI Raja Arif Sultan, Director Public Relations Sarfaraz Ahmed, Information Secretary Zahid Askari and others were also present on the occasion.
Addressing a press conference, JI Ameer said that every political and religious party of the country should unite on such 3-point agenda including eradication of terrorism, evolution in economy and resolution of Kashmir issue.
Hasan said the menace of terrorism is being increased in every passing day in the country adding Federal Administered Tribal Area (FATA), Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KPK), Balochistan and Karachi are in grip of terrorism.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the economy of the country at its verge of collapse while former Finance Minister Dr Hafeez Shaikh is being planned to release the last installment by IMF.
“JI considers to evolve a loud thinking to resolve the economic crises of the country”, Hasan added.
He further said the Kashmir issue should resolve as per the desire of Kashmiri people.
On the occasion, JI Ameer said the government should evolve independent foreign policy in which national agenda should remain on top.
Talking on prevailing situation in Bangladesh, Munawar Hasan said the conviction of JI leaders in BD was an unjustified act and media should play its due role to highlight the atrocities being done on JI leaders in Bangladesh.
JI Ameer further said the US intervention on economic, geographical and Pak armed forces grounds should be stopped immediately, as US wants to seize the resources of Pakistan.
“Our present rulers are obeying the US commands while the people can bring the change and get independence from US slavery by the power of their votes”, JI Ameer added.
Replying to a question, Hasan said seat adjustment with JUI-F in KPK and PML-N and PTI in Punjab would be done in general elections.
JI Ameer regretted that the Election Commission has not yet implemented the SC verdict over voters’ verification in its true spirit.
Meanwhile, prominent scholars and leaders of Christian community including Bishop Nazeer Alam of United Church of Pakistan, Bishop Khadim Bhutto of Gospel Vision Church of Pakistan, Dr Samuel George, Chairman Philadelphia Castle Church, Pastor Michael Victor, Vice Chairman Church of Pakistan, Pastor Rayyaz Buta, pastor Pervez Gill, Pastor Edward Irfan, Pastor Mansi Badr, Pastor Irfan Dean, Pastor Afzal, Pastor Shamoon Joseph and others were also present on the occasion.
They expressed gratitude to the JI leaders to express solidarity with the Christian community over Badami Bagh incident in Lahore.
Bishop Nazeer Alam strongly condemned the incident of Badami Bagh and termed it a conspiracy by some anti-social elements.
Enamuel Victor, Vice Chairman of Churches of Pakistan held government of Punjab and agencies responsible into the incident of Badami Bagh.
Pastor George demanded of the government to award exemplary punishment to those culprits involved in the said incident.
Later, JI Karachi Ameer Muhammad Hussain Mahenti assured full party support to the Christian community and said that the JI leadership stands shoulder to shoulder with Christian community in the said desperate time. Leaders of JI Minority Wing were also present on the occasion.
