Lahore: Minister Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Punjab Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi has said that the government is implementing a comprehensive strategy for providing clean and safe drinking water specially in rural areas and strengthening of environmental health measure through community based initiatives, practical strategy and capacity building activities at the local level. He said that Rs. 12 billion are being spent for ongoing and new developmental schemes, however, majority funds were being utilized in rural areas, whereas, Rs. 31 billion are being spent to provide civic amenities under district project.
He expressed these views at the ceremony for Award distribution to the best CBOs of district, division and province. At this occasion, Mr. Suhail Aamir, Secretary Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department appreciated the performance of CBOs and asked to put more efforts.
