CM presides high level meeting to review inaugural arrangements of MBP

CM PUNJAB-1Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that a great welfare-project, like metro bus project, has never been executed in the 65 years’ history of Pakistan, and it is a project not only for Lahore, but for the whole country. He said a high quality and speed has been maintained during the implementation of the project, which would be inaugurated on February 10. He said Punjab government of Pakistan Muslim League-N has proved by completing the metro bus project in a record period that all difficulties can be overcome if the leadership is determined.

The Chief Minister was presiding over a high-level meeting to review inaugural arrangements of Metro Bus Project at Model Town, here today. Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmed Hassan, Members Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Pervaiz Malik, Mian Muhammad Nauman, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Commissioner Lahore Division, Secretary Information, Managing Director Punjab Metro Bus Authority, Director General LDA and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that inauguration of metro bus project is a highly significant event in the history of Pakistan, which would bring about revolutionary changes in the transport sector, as citizens would be provided comfortable, modern and affordable travelling facilities. He said metro bus project in Turkey was completed in two and a half years, while we have completed it within a short period of 11 months. He said metro bus service would make Pakistan one of those few countries of the world where modern transport service of international quality is available. He said metro bus service would be free-of-cost for the people during the first four weeks.
