Lahore: Kamran Faisal, member of National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigative team inspecting the Rental Power Plants (RPP) cases was found dead today at the Federal Lodges in Islamabad where he was residing. Allegedly he committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling fan, based on the initial investigation. He had also assisted Deputy Director of NAB’s Rawalpindi chapter, Asghar Khan, in the inquest of RPP case.
It has been quoted that Kamran Faisal was under immense pressure after the Supreme Court ordered The Prime Minister’s arrest in lieu of the RPP case. More than 20 officials of NAB from Punjab have alleged that it was a murder which is being framed as suicide, because the roof window of Faisal’s room was ajar when the police went there for investigation.
While talking to media,Kamran Faisal’s father has said his son was a man of strong nerves,he could not commit suicide rather he was murdered. He appealed to the CJP to take notice of the incident and order impartial probe.
However, the actual cause of the suicide can only be unearthed after postmortem is done and medical report is issued.
PTI,JI has strongly demanded that a thorough investigation should be conducted to ascertain the actual cause of death.
