Lahore police claims excellent performance during the year 2012

Lahore police excellent performance during the year 2012, Arrested 1483 accused of 519 gangs here in, Lahore and traced 1717 cases against them while more then Rs 103 millions recovered from them, 8177 POs & 11914 CAs also arrested in the same period.

According to details DIG Operations Muhammad Tahir Rai and SSP Operations Sohail Akhtar Sukhera directed Lahore police to utilize their full energies to curb the crime in the city and to arrest the criminals involved in different unlawful activities. On these directions Lahore police worked day & night and arrested 1483 criminals of 519 gangs involved in different heinous crimes. 8177 POs, 11914 CAs included A&B categories were also arrested.

During the same period 8982 cases registered against 4994 accused on having illicit weapons and police also recovered 33-Kalashankoves, 162-rifles, 283 guns, 19-carbine, 4269 revolvers & pistols, 89 daggers and 27750 bullets from these criminals. During the action against drug sellers, 6389 cases were registered and 6556 culprits were arrested and 209kg-37g heroine, 1560kg-997g chars, 29kg-813g opium, 257kg hashish (Bhang) and 83755 bottles of liquor recovered from the criminals. In a special campaign 1681 cases were registered against gamblers and 6144 criminals arrested. Police also recovered the amount of Rs.88 laks 99 thousand from their possession.

In the same period during the special crackdown 4297 cases were registered against 6311 culprits who involved in the violation of law.
