Lahore: There is no space in the police department for the coward since the society only respects and pays tributes to the brave officers/officials, who put their lives at stake to eliminate the criminals.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman expressed these views during his farewell address to the Police Darbar held in Gujranwala today. RPO Gujranwala Muhammad Amin Wains, CPO Abdul Razzaq Cheema, district police officers of Gujranwala Region, senior officers, and members of City police liaison committee were also present on this occasion.
The IGP said that the officers/officials of Punjab police eliminated the gangs of criminals as they sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. This force would continue the mission of providing protection to the lives and properties of the citizens. The IGP said that he himself had constituted a team of good officers like RPO Gujranwala Muhammad Amin Wains, who eliminated the gangs of criminals involved in extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and land-grabbing. The Gujranwala police was given best performance award for their outstanding work.
On this occasion, the IGP also paid rich tributes to RPO Gujranwala Muhammad Amin Wains and his team for reducing crimes to 50 per cent by maintaining law and order in the region. The provincial police chief also said that the department feels proud for his bravery and professionalism.
Speaking on this occasion, RPO Gujranwala Muhammad Amin said that the police department has entered a new era since Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman had been appointed as the IGP of the Punjab police. The IGP’s open-door policy has given an opportunity to the people to get their complaints registered at the highest level. This policy also helped the police improve its working. The RPO further said that police department would remember the role of IGP Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman forever.
