MCB intends to start lease finances for the judges

Lahore: Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC), Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial for the facility of litigant public, lawyers, court staff and judges. All the hon’ble Judges working at Principal Seat of LHC, President and office bearers of Lahore High Court Bar Association, senior advocates, bank representatives, officers of the Court and litigants were also present on the occasion.

Muslim Commercial Bank has been selected as the bank for LHC after completing due process and ensuring transparency. LHC held negotiations with almost all the banking institutions and after a long deliberation, MCB has been chosen as its bank. There was a long standing need for such an initiative aimed at providing facility to the litigant public, lawyers and court officials etc. Almost 10,000 people visit LHC per day including a large number of litigants. With the launching of the bank booth, people visiting LHC from far flung areas will benefit from it instead of going outside the court premises.

LHC has also provided space in its premises for establishment of a full fledged branch of MCB to cater to the needs of employees and public at large. Payment of money under court orders in the past would be through making deposits in various banks but for the first time in the history of LHC, all the deposits of the litigants will be manned under a single roof saving a lot of precious time of court staff as well as assuring them a safe and secured place for monetary transactions.

MCB also intends to start lease finances for the judges of the district judiciary and LHC establishment. Under this scheme, officers will be able to buy cars from their own money for their office use as like this, judges, who have no conveyance to reach their courts will be benefited from this venture. This will surely enhance honor and prestige of the judicial officers and in turn they will deliver good judgments.
