Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain has said that Islam is the biggest torch bearer and protector of the human rights, as a citizen of Islamic Republic of Pakistan it is our duty to give priority to human rights here.
In his message on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, Ch Shujat Hussain lauded the efforts of the NGOs and the civil society for the human rights in the country and said that we have to do a lot more in our society in this regard. Appreciating the Women Empowerment Programme, he said that for human development effective role of women in every society has become inevitable.
Talking about human rights, Ch Shujat Hussain said that in this regard the most important Aafiya Siddiqui case cannot be overlooked. I appeal to all human rights organizations at the international and national level that they should pay special attention to Aafiya Siddiqui case on this occasion.
He said that for the protection and respect for the human rights on every level in the society, the role of the civil society, philanthropists individuals, organizations, institutions, education experts and religious leaders is very important and they should play their role in this respect in an effective manner.
