Flood victims are being financially assisted :DG PDMA

Lahore: Financial assistance to flood victims were distributed in Punjab among 27303 families in Taunsa, Shujaabad and Layyah districts through Watan Card centers.

This was disclosed by Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Mujahid Sher Dil while addressing a review meeting, here today. Mujahid Sher Dil said that rehabilitation and financial assistance programme for flood victims by Punjab government has been appreciated worldwide. He said that, by provision of model villages to the flood victims of 2010, through Rehabilitation programme, Punjab government has set a great example.

He said that government is also grateful to those donor and social organizations and philanthropist who have taken active part in this programme. He said that Taunsa Sharif, Shujaabad and Layyah Watan Card Centers have been closed after completion of work. He said that efficient rehabilitation services by PDMA in any kind of disaster at provincial and national level, are praiseworthy and have also been appreciated and admired by the European Union. PDMA Department has also been modernized, concluded the DG PDMA.
