Committee constituted for resuming MBBS classes in Ameer Uddin Medical College

Lahore: The Committee constituted for resuming MBBS classes in Ameer Uddin Medical College has presented its recommendations and Health Department has directed all concerned officials for their implementation.

According to the recommendations, the building at Birdwood Road which is under use of Services Institute of Medical Sciences would be handed over to administration of Ameeruddin Medical College. Moreover, under construction building of Bacteria laboratory would also be considered part and parcel of Amiruddin Medical College, after its completion.

The Committee has recommended that on 3-Birdwood Road, a suitable building should be acquired on rent for the students of the said College residing in different rooms and minimum amount should be spent on its repair. The Committee further suggested that keeping in view long and short term requirements of college usage of this 40- kanal building should be ensured under a long term strategy a suitable site should be provided to PGMI and Ameer Uddin Medical College to be shifted there near to Lahore General Hospital. Health Department has issued necessary instructions to all stakeholders to implement these recommendations as early as possible.
