Asghar Khan Case decision must be implemented: Imran Khan

Lahore: Pakistan Thereek-i-Insaf Chairman, Imran Khan in a press conference held today at the Central Media Cell Lahore, said that, PTI will announce its Youth Policy on 4th November 2012 at the National Youth Convention being held at the Expo Center Lahore. Through this convention PTI aims to provide the youth with a platform to show their potential and their struggle for change.

Imran Khan also stated that PTI is the first party to take up the challenge of intra party elections and denied all rumors regarding the party to not going through the election. He said that the elections will take place no matter whatever the difficulties are and that the delay is purely technical as the voting will be electronic. As the party membership is increasing by the day the finalization of the electoral lists is a tedious and lengthy task. Khan specified that that this the most difficult task that the party has taken up since its conception but to ensure merit it is imperative for the party members to go through this process. He said that this competition is healthy and that it will only make the party more strong. Adding to this Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that this challenge that the party has taken up differentiates it from the rest who come into power through power brokers. Hamid Khan will be announcing the date for the Islamabad election on the 5th of November 2012.

Imran Khan also mentioned that PTI stands by the Supreme Court’s historic verdict in the Asghar Khan Case and demands that a thorough investigation should be conducted by FIA to unmask all those who have been involved with the ISI.

Imran Khan lamented the targeted killing of innocent people, stating that bullet-riddled bodies were found every now and then all over the province, and asserted that incidents of abduction are at peak. He blamed the sitting government for its inability to resolve the crisis. Imran khan also strongly condemned firing incident at a petrol pump in Khuzdar Balochistan. He stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf condemns all acts of violence targeting innocent people of Pakistan and it is very unfortunate that the extremists are targeting civilians including women and children.

Those present at the press conference included Vice Chairman, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Central Information Secretary, Shafqat Mahmood, Senior Vice President, Hamid Khan, Former President Punjab, Ahsan Rasheed and Former President Lahore region, Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed.
