PEF starts tree plantation campaign

Lahore: Punjab Education Foundation has started tree plantation campaign for creating awareness about the importance of clean environment among 13 lakh students of partner schools. This campaign is aimed at motivating the students to plant saplings in their schools and houses. Students planted saplings in schools and houses of 18 districts during a special campaign under the supervision of subject specialists, provided by Punjab Education Foundation to partner schools.

Raja Anwar expressed satisfaction over the measures of Punjab Education Foundation for apprising the students of clean environment and said that tree plantation will help eliminate environmental pollution. In addition to complete elimination of corporal punishment in partner schools, Punjab Education Foundation has also kept informed the students about different environmental issues. He said that neat and green environment will result in nurturing the educational and creative abilities of the students. He further said that the role of students in setting up of educated and Green Punjab. is of great importance. He emphasized upon the parents and teachers to promote creative awareness among the children so that new dimensions could be introduced in education and knowledge.
