Ijaz alias Jaji Car lifter gang busted by Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff

Lahore: Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff Cantt division has busted Ijaz alias Jaji Car lifter gang including the ringleader. As many as 18 cars valuing Rs 14.9 millions were recovered from the arrested accused.
According to details, CCPO Tareen directed DIG Investigation Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed, to initiate steps for curbing the trend of car snatching and theft besides effecting recovery of the stolen vehicles. SSP Investigation Babar Bakht Qureshi formed a team under the supervision of SP CRO Syed Jamat Ali Bukhari, DSP AVLS Saleem Mukhtar Butt and other officials which worked day & night and was successful in busting Ijaz alias Jaji gang.

The accused assembled together after contacting one another on phone at stole vehicles parked at outside of the houses in streets with the help of master key and also snatched cars from citizens on roads at gunpoint and later sold them at cheaper prices in tribal area and other districts of the Punjab.

The stolen vehicles include 6 Honda Civic, 5 Suzuki Mehran, 3 Toyota Corolla, one Honda, one Suzuki Cultus, one Suzuki Khyber and one Suzuki Bolan. The arrested accused include ringleader Muhammad Ijaz alias Jaji, Muhammad Asif alias Kalo and Sharafat Ali alias Fouji and Sundas Bibi who are all history-sheeters. The criminals have confessed to 38 incidents in police station Sundar, Johar Town, Ghalib Market, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Sattokatla, Sayanwala Faislabad, Defence A, Shabagh, Wahdat Colony, Defence B, Islampura, Garden Town, Iqbal Town, Gulberg, Shahdara Town, Mughalpura, Old Anarkali, Liaqatabad, Sanda and Chung. Effort of further recovery is underway.
The police raiding party comprised SI Muhammad Abbas, ASIs Muhammad Boota and Akhtar Mehmood, Head Constables Ghulam Mustafa, Muhammad Shoaib, Constables Muhammad Afzal, Mubeen Sajid, Muhammad Shabir, Muhammad Tariq and Muhammad Naeem.

Addl. IG/CCPO Aslam Tareen has announced cash award and commendation certificates for the raiding party.
