Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has announced to double the Green Tractors Scheme quota for the tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. While presiding over a high-level meeting, the Chief Minister said that now instead of 22 tractors, as many as 44 tractors would be distributed among the farmers of tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. He said, like other areas of Punjab, in these tribal areas, distribution of tractors would also be made through transparent balloting, and only the farmers belonging to the tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur would be eligible.
The Chief Minister directed the Secretary Agriculture to start provision of tractors to the farmers of the tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur, immediately after completion of balloting. He further directed that the whole process should be completed in a transparent manner.
