Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Division Jawad Rafique Malik has said that the administration would not sit back as long as the dengue continue to multiply during the current season and vowed to continue the anti-dengue campaign.
He was speaking at having visited a number of city schools in connection with the inspection of anti-dengue measures here today. Chief entomologist Dr. Waseem Akram, Dr. Sajjad Dara, Wing Commander ® Saeed Riaz, Administrator Gulberg Town Amina Munir, TMO Gulberg Town Faisal Shahzad, Administrator Data Gunj Bakhsh Town, TMO Data Gunj Bakhsh Town, officers of health, education, Rescue 1122 and other departments were also present on the occasion. The commissioner expressed satisfaction over the fact that the number of dengue hemorrhage fever patients by the grace of Almighty Allah could not rise at a disturbance level in the provincial metropolis.
The commissioner visited high schools after reviewing the anti-dengue arrangements in the private schools. The commissioner along with chief entomologist Dr. Waseem Akram exchanged the views with the high school students regarding the anti-dengue information. At that occasion commissioner and the other participants expressed their pleasure over the confidence answering of the students. Moreover, the commissioner expressed his satisfaction over the anti-dengue awareness of the public school and said that the private schools need more attention in this regard. He directed the TMO Gulberg town and officers of health and education departments to take more anti-dengue measures for improving the anti-dengue awareness among the students of private schools and signature of their parents on the anti-dengue Performa be also acquired. Later on, while talking to media the commissioner said that school children were the focus of the inspection that is why they have been given importance.
Chief Minister’s Special Advisor on Health Kh. Salman Rafique said that an effective strategy had been devised to control this menace and for this purpose meetings regarding anti-dengue campaign were held in all the towns. He further said that public and private schools were the focus of inspection teams. He said that anti-dengue campaign would continue till the current season is over. He directed the TMOs and owners of the private schools to take more step for the improvement of anti-dengue awareness among the students of private schools.
