CM meets MPA’s of different districts

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that anti-dengue larva day would be enthusiastically observed throughout the province including Lahore, on Sunday, September 9. He vowed that with the vigorous cooperation of the people and government efforts, dengue virus would be eradicated. He said that getting rid of dengue is the mission of the government which, however, cannot be accomplished without cooperation of the masses. He said it is a matter of great satisfaction that anti-dengue campaign is successfully continuing in the form of a movement, while enthusiastic participation of the people in the drive has proved that they are determined to fight dengue. He said due to timely and effective steps of the government as well as all out cooperation of the people, encouraging results are being witnessed in the anti-dengue campaign.

The Chief Minister was talking to assembly members of various districts, here today. He said that it is the responsibility of the citizens to keep their streets, localities and surroundings neat and clean as there is a need for collective and coordinated efforts to eliminate dengue larvae. He said that government machinery alongwith elected representatives would play an active role in the drive for elimination of dengue larvae on Sunday in order to rid the country of this deadly disease. He said that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure eradication of dengue larva through eradication of the breeding places of dengue mosquito. He said that similar zeal and enthusiasm is required which was displayed by the government officials on Anti-dengue Day, and by eliminating the deadly mosquito, we must perform our duty to protect human lives. The Chief Minister said that with the grace of Allah Almighty, due to vigorous efforts of the government and cooperation of the masses, dengue has been controlled to a large extent while efforts in the right direction are continuing. He said that efforts against dengue have not gone waste whereas public awareness against dengue is praiseworthy. He said that timely preventive measures can help control dengue. He said that all out steps are being taken for the protection of human lives whereas Punjab government is standing shoulder to shoulder with the people in this hour of difficulty.

The Chief Minister said that elected representatives should continuously review the steps taken in their respective areas for eradication of dengue while strict action should be taken against the absent staff. He said the Punjab government is following a revolutionary programme of welfare and uplift of the masses because the basic agenda of Pakistan Muslim League-N is to serve the people. He said the Punjab government has diverted resources towards the welfare of the poor people, however, regrettably the corrupt, incompetent and cruel rulers of Islamabad have shown criminal negligence towards solving people’s issues and snatched from them their happiness. He said that time of departure of Ali Baba Forty Thieves has come near as those who gave the country loadshedding and unemployment have lost the right to rule and people are now determined to remove such elements from power. He said the people are suffering because of the misdeeds of the federal government, however, this situation will not continue any longer. He said that if people gave Pakistan Muslim League-N the mandate to serve them the destiny of Pakistan would be changed under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Appreciating the steps of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for the welfare of the people and eradication of dengue, the parliamentarians said that Punjab Chief Minister has proved to be “Khadim-e-Punjab” in the real sense. They said due to untiring efforts of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the threat of dengue has been minimized and, Inshaallah, dengue would be defeated under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
