Lahore: Member Provincial Assembly Haji Allah Rakha has said that democracy is the name of standing shoulder to shoulder with the people in the time of need. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government is fully implementing its programme of public service and Assembly members alongwith social and political workers are promoting awareness in the people by paying door to door visits in every mohallah and street.
He was addressing a function regarding anti-dengue campaign at Sarai Jora, Pir Colony, Qadir Bukhsh Park, here today. Coordinators, Union Council-45, Faisal Adnan, Syed Shahsawar, Haji Muzaffar Ch., political and social workers Ch. Afzal, Ijaz Ahmed Cheema, Haji Saleem, as well as large number of notables of the area were also present on the occasion. Addressing the function Haji Allah Rakha said that Punjab government is making strenuous efforts against dengue and the process of implementation of preventive measures as well as promotion of public awareness against dengue will continue till complete elimination of the menace.
He appealed to the people to keep their houses and surroundings clean and dry so as to check the growth of dengue. He said that anti-dengue kits and pamphlets are being distributed free of cost in houses while dengue larva is also being eradicated at sensitive places. He distributed 600 anti-dengue kits containing necessary medicines, anti-mosquito powder, coils, lotions, Penadol and other items among the participants free of cost.
