Police is a servant of the masses:IGP Haji Habib ur Rehman

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab has said that Police is a servant of the masses as they are being paid by the taxes of the people,he was  addressing an open-court held at Noor Mahal Marriage Hall at Ferozpur Road.

CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen, DIG OPS Rai Tahir Ahmad,SP Modal Town Malik Awais and other police official were also present there.

The IGP said that the police department is the first step of the criminal justice system. Therefore, it is the basic responsibility of the police to provide free and speedy justice to the victims at all costs. A great number of people appeared in the open court while the IGP listened to their problems and complaints and issued on-the-spot orders for the redressal of their grievances. The IGP suspended a police constable and his three accomplices from service for torturing a student in the limits of Satu Katla police precincts.
