Historical Air-Show wins the hearts of the people

Lahore: A big congregation regarding Independence Day was held at Minar-e-Pakistan in provincial metropolis which was attended by thousands of people. Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal and Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan were the chief guests on the occasion. DG Sports Usman Anwar was also present on the occasion. It was an important function with regard to Punjab Youth Festival Celebrations 2012 in which more than 50 small remote control airplanes showed different feats in the air. The airplanes hoisted Pakistani flags and fell green parachutes. When the models of national heroes Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Allama Iqbal in a beautiful ‘baghi’, passed in front of the stage, the people gave a big applause and raised slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. A contingent of band presented guard of honour.

At the end, while addressing the function, Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal said that the youth should realize the importance of independence as the country was achieved after numerous sacrifices. He said that Chief Minister Punjab pay special attention to save the country from corruption and did not tolerate any corrupt officer or official. He said that the living nations celebrate their independence day with zeal and ferver.

Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed said that we should pledge to rid the country of the corrupt rulers in order to bring it to light from the darkness. He said that the youth of Punjab have awakened to kick out the corrupt rulers from the country. He said that holding of Punjab Sports Festival is aimed at restore the sagging credibility of Pakistan in the world. He said that the National Youth Festival to be held in 2012 will bring a good name to the country.
