Federal departments should vigilent on Martyrdom Day’ of Hazrat Ali

Commissioner, Lahore Division, Jawad Rafiq Malik has directed the LESCO officials to immediately remove the loose-ended hanging wires from the streets and roads following under the route of the procession taken out on the ‘Martyrdom Day’ of Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah Wajho). He further directed the LESCO, Sui Northern Gas and WASA officers and officials to remain present on duty right from the beginning to end of the procession.

He issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting held in connection with reviewing of arrangements for the ‘Martyrdom Day’ of Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah Wajho) in his office today. Speaking on that occasion, the Commissioner informed the participants of the meeting that all arrangements in connection with the ‘Martyrdom Day’ had been completed. He said that tight and foolproof security arrangements had been made throughout the city on that occasion. He ordered the police and security officials to remove the filth ships from the passages of the procession route, search the shuttered down shops and locked houses, checking of the participants of the procession making use of metal detectors and walkthrough gates and to keep a vigilant eye on the suspicious persons, parked vehicles and motorcycles as well. He expressed satisfaction over the fact that exemplary arrangements had been made last year on the occasion of ‘Martyrdom Day’ of Hazrat Ali (KAW) through the cooperation between the government and the organizers of the processions. This time as well, a special plan has been chalked out in collaboration between the city administration and the organizers of the procession so that the devotees may perform their religious obligations without any hindrance or let.

Some Ulema present in the meeting drew the attention of the commissioner to some important points in the walled city on which the commissioner directed Director Additional Security, Col. (Retd.) Younas Bharola to ensure better arrangements having examined those points. He also asked the LESCO officials to exempt the area from load-shedding from Ramzan 18th to Ramzan 21st and make alternative power arrangements through generators in case of power outage. Meanwhile, he also urged the Ulema present in the meeting to call off the procession earlier in view of the holy month of Ramzan and the overall situation in the country. At this Ulema assured him of their best cooperation. Among others who participated in the meeting include Members National and Provincial Assembly Pervaiz Malik, Mian Marghoob Ahmad, Kh. Imran Nazir, Chaudhry Shahbaz, Ajassam Sharif, Secretary Auqaf, DCO Lahore, DIG Operations, SSP Special Branch and CTO Lahore.
