PARB approves 450 million budget for the fiscal year 2012-13

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmad Ali presided over 27th meeting of Punjab Agriculture Research Board which gave approval to the budget of Rs. 450 million for the fiscal year 2012-13 for new and ongoing projects of agriculture research.

Member Provincial Assembly Rao Kashif Rahim Khan, Chief Executive Punjab Agriculture Research Board Dr. Mubarak Ali, Secretary Forests and Fisheries Shahnawaz Badar, Secretary Livestock Irfan Elahi, Additional Secretary Agriculture (Admin) Amir Khatak, Vice Chancellor University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, Vice Chancellor Agriculture University Faisalabad, Director Agriculture Information Punjab Muhammad Rafique Akhtar, Member Farmer Board Syed Faisal Hussain, Chief Economist Planning and Development Department Arif Anwar Baloch, DG Agriculture (Research) Dr. Noor-ul-Islam and representatives of Finance Department were also present on the occasion. The meeting reviewed research projects and gave approval to the budget of ongoing as well as 30 new projects. Chief Executive Punjab Agriculture Research Board also briefed about the results of 12 important projects worth 18.58 crore under competitive grant system upon which board expressed its satisfaction. The meeting also gave approval to the appointment of persons against the vacant posts of two executive members recommended by selection committee.
