TTP fake Ameer arrested in city

Lahore:Investigation Police Ravi Road arrested one Abdul Rizwan alias Janu for demanding heavy ransom from an industrialist while posing to be a Taliban leader.

According to details, local industrialist Chaudhary Shahid Hussain got case No. 418/142 registered u/s 29/D of Telegraph Act & Section 387 of PPC in PS Ravi Road stating that a man who called himself Ameer of Tehrik-e-Taliban has demanded a ransom of rupees 25 lakh from him and threatening of assassinating him and his family if the ransom was not paid.

Due to the seriousness of the offense, SP Investigation Rana Shujaat Ali immediately formed a team under supervision of DSP Shafiqabad Circle Aftab Phularwan comprising Incharge Investigation Inspector Zulifqar Ahmed, ASI Amjad Hussain and other officials which after serious efforts was able to trace accused Abdul Rizwan alia Janu and succeeded in arresting him along with his mobile phone and the sim used in the offense. Investigation is progress and further disclosures are expected in the matter.

SSP Investigation Babar Bakht Qureshi has announced cash award and commendation certificates for the police team.
