Lahore: CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen has said that security arrangements on the occasion of Yaum-e-Shahdat of Hazrat Ali have been finalized. Besides using metal detectors and walk through gates for security checking, CCTV cameras would be utilized for monitoring and recording purpose.
All shops and houses along the route would be searched and their doors & windows would remain closed and no one would be allowed to go to the roof tops during the procession. Moreover the owners of the houses along the route well ensure that no one other than the family members is allowed inside the house during the procession.
Tareen said that all streets, roads and routes along the procession route shall be sealed and all vehicles including cars & motorcycles shall be parked at a distance. He said that though the Lessco officials have been asked to ensure that no load-shedding is carried out yet alternate arrangements for generators and lights would also be made with assistance of the administration to coup up with the situation in the event of sudden power failure.
CCPO said that active cooperation of processions organizers would be enlisted for screening and checking and their volunteers would assist the security staff during the process. He said that alternate traffic plan has been made for the occasion and the CTO will provide awareness to the public regarding the alternate traffic route through traffic police FM channel and other available means for avoiding any inconvenience on this account.
