LHC suspends PML-N MPA for dual Nationality

Lahore high Court has suspended the PML-N MPA Rana Asif Mehmood for dual citizenship. A local resident had challenged the eligibility of Rana Asif through a petition. The applicant claimed that Rana Asif is a Canadian national, so he could not be a member of legislative assembly.

On the court notices, the ex provincial minister took stance that he has Canadian passport but he is not Canadian national. The court observed that no man could get passport of any country without its nationality. As Rana Asif has admitted that he has Canadian passport, so he is not eligible to become MPA
