Lahore:Despite of shortage of resources Punjab Police is working day and night for provision of free and fair justice to the people, eradication of crimes, elimination of terrorism and also ensuring the safety of the people and their properties.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Punjab Mohammad Habib-ur-Rehman while presiding over a high-level crime review meeting of Faisalabad and Sargodha Regions held at Police Complex Faisalabad today. RPO Faisalabad, RPO Sargodha and all DPOs of both regions including senior officers attended the meeting.
Provincial Police Chief directed the field police officers to launch a ruthless crackdown against the hardened and most wanted criminals, and proclaimed offenders, which would help bring down the crime rate in the province. IGP also said that due to aggressive policing and course of police encounters held during last few months in Punjab, crime rate descended and most of hardened criminals were arrested / killed. He further directed the District Police Officers to properly supervise the investigation wing of the police in order to ensure merit-bases investigations.
The field police officers briefed the IGP about the cases of kidnapping for ransom, robbery and robbery-cum murder registered and in their Regions. The officers also informed the Police Chief about the arrests of proclaimed offenders, their prosecution and convictions.
IGP expressed his satisfaction over all declining crime rate in Faisalabad and Sargodha Regions.
Meanwhile, IGP distributed cash awards and commendatory certificates among the honest and dutiful police officials of the both Regions.
