Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Shahra-e-Majid Nizami, at China Chowk, today. Member Provincial Assembly Mohsin Latif, District Coordination Officer Lahore, Secretary Nazria-e-Pakistan Trust, Shahid Rasheed and other concerned authorities were also present.
Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Lawrence Road has been named after the Chief Editor “Nawa-i-Waqt”, Majid Nizami, in view of his 70 years long services in the field of journalism and his 50 years stint as Chief Editor of a national daily. The Chief Minister said that Majid Nizami is the custodian of the ideological foundation of the country and has rendered invaluable services for the promotion and propagation of Nazria-e-Pakistan.
Earlier, the Chief Minister unveiled the plaque of Shara-e-Majid Nizami, and prayed for the solidarity of the country and long life and wellbeing of Majid Nizami. The Chief Minister was informed that the two-kilometer long Shara-e-Majid Nizami, from China Chowk to Shara-e-Fatima Jinnah, has been constructed at a cost of more than rupees four crore while the project has been completed within sixty days.
