Punjab Govt refuses to provide security to banks

Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting which reviewed the security plan for banks, money exchangers and jewelers. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan, Advisor Jehanzeb Burki, Members Assembly Rana Tanveer Hussain, Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada, Inspector General Police, Secretaries of Home and Industries and concerned officers attended the meeting.

Addressing the meeting Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that banks are earning profit of billions of rupees, therefore, they will have to improve their security arrangements. Terming the security plan evolved for jewelers, money exchangers and banks as comprehensive, the Chief Minister said that a road map for its implementation be presented within a week. He said that setting up a separate training school with the cooperation of banks for the training of security guards be considered. He directed that an effective monitoring system should also be devised for implementation of the security plan.

Advisor Jehanzeb Burki threw light on various aspects of the security plan. Participants of the meeting also put forth various proposals in this regard.
