Four proclaimed offenders killed in an encounter

As many as four proclaimed offenders involved in murder, dacoity, abduction for ransom and other heinous crimes died during a police encounter with CIA Police in the precincts of PS Islampura in the wee hours of Monday.

Accused were involved in murder of two persons in the area of PS Ferozwala, abduction of Misri Shah trader Ijaz Butt’s son Talha and release after having taking rupees 40 lakh and several other heinous crimes including a police encounter in Badami Bagh which resulted in martyrdom of SI Naveed Bhati.

They were POs in several cases and were wanted by Faislabad, Sheikhupura and Lahore Police in a number of cases. Rupees 20 lacks cash, Kalashnikovs, bullets & pistols etc in their use were recovered from the scene of occurrence.

According to details, under investigation accused Muhammad Attique alias Balokan disclosed before SI Muhammad Akram of CIA that his three accomplices Zahid alias Raju, Altaf alias Tafa and Sadiq alias Babbi were involved in a number of heinous crimes in Lahore and used to go to tribal area after committing the crimes. At present they were in the hiding at Dera Chaudhary Abid and could be arrested upon immediate raid. Upon this SP CIA Muhammad Umar Virk set out a raiding party headed by SI Muhammad Akram.

When the raiding party reached the spot, the accused opened straight fire at police party with firearms which resulted in serious injuries to accused Attique alias Balokan. The raiding party returned the fire in self defense which continued for about an hour. When the fire from accused seized, it transpired that two accused Altaf alias Tafa and Sadiq alias Babbi had expired on the spot while third Zahid alias Raju was in seriously injured. The injured were rushed towards the hospital but expired on the way. Four Kalashnikovs, rupees 20 lacks cash, bullets and three pistols in use of the accused were recovered from the spot. A case under section 324/353/186 PPC and AO 13/20/65 has been registered against the accused for interference in the official business.

In total 38 cases are registered against the accused in District Faisalabad, Sheikupura and Lahore. As many as 27 cases are registered against Zahid alias Raju while 6 cases each are registered Altaf alias Tafa and Sadiq alias Babbi and 5 cases are registered against Attique alias Balokan.
