726 Rescuers pass out from emergencyservices academy

Lahore:The Sixteenth Passing out ceremony of more than 726 Rescuers including Peshawar & Mardan (KPK), Gilgit Baltistan, Taunsa and Rojhan (South Punjab) was held at Emergency Services Academy Pakistan. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah, Senator KPK Azam Khan Hoti, Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Sajjad Saleem Hotiyana, First Muslim British Parliamentarian Ch Sarwer and dignities from different Government, Non Government Organizations.

While giving the Well Come address the Director General, Emergency Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer congratulated Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah, Senator KPK Azam Khan Hoti, Chief Minister Punjab for establishing Rescue 1122 in their respective Provinces.

He further said this Service would be great help for the helpless victims of accidents emergencies and disasters and all credit goes to Chief Ministers of Khyber Pakhtun khwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Punjab for the countless lives saved by the professionally trained rescuers of Rescue 1122 Service in their respective provinces.

Senator Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa Azam Khan Hoti thanked the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and people of Punjab for this kind gesture of brother-hood for giving opportunity to replicate international standard emergency services in other provinces of Pakistan. He also acknowledged the services of Dr. Rizwan Naseer as founder of the Pakistan’s first trained emergency medical, rescue and fire Service and also appreciated his efforts for the establishment of Rescue1122 in KPK. The experience, achievements and skills of the Punjab Emergency Service team will be of great benefit for us in Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa, he further added.

The Chief Minister, Gilgit–Baltistan said that the selection of rescuers for Gilgit Baltistan was purely on merit and I am happy to see that they have been given professional training to save precious human lives from Emergency Services Academy which is already tested model of Rescue 1122 in Punjab. Now this is the responsibility of trained rescuers to maintain same standards of Service in their respective provinces.

First Muslim British Parliamentarian Ch. Sarwer expressed his views that I feel proud to see that rescuers from KPK, GB and South Punjab has also gone through rigorous professional training from Emergency Services Academy. He said this is noble profession all over the world and you will feel proud to hear that rescuers trained from ESA Pakistan are much better than United Kingdom. I assure you Stractch Clyde Fire Service UK is always ready to provide assistance to Emergency Services Academy, he further added.

The passing out cadets demonstrated their professional skills of emergency management of victims in mock exercise of mass casualties due to explosion & fire. They also demonstrated skill of firefighting and rescue from height at this occasion.

These 726 Rescuers passed out includes 313 rescuers from Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa, 186 rescuers from Gilgit Baltistan and 227 rescuers for Two Tehsil of South Punjab. The Cadets have been given specialized medical, rescue, firefighting and rescue from height training in first phase then the Specialized training courses were arranged for rescuers in the fields of Communication, Medical First Responder (MFR), Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR), Communication Enhancement and Incident Command System.

The quality training of such a large number of rescuers with limited resources was a gigantic task has been achieved through close monitoring and weekly tests. The emergency staff will be deputed in hospital at their respective districts for hands on skills in emergency department of teaching hospitals before final posting.
