ISLAMABAD :The Inspector General of Police Islamabad, through a letter, has been asked by the deputy commissioner to ensure appearance of a former SSP Tamour Ali Khan before the inquiry officer by Monday in a judicial probe concerning the alleged involvement of Sharif brothers in ‘1997 Supreme Court attack case’.
DC Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed is holding a judicial inquiry on the direction of the Interior Minister Rehman Malik to probe and fix responsibility as to why the then SSP (Headquarters) Tamour Khan had closed an incomplete inquiry against PML-N leaders Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif, a decade ago.
Former SSP Mr Khan was the inquiry officer and had started probe against Sharif brothers in connection with their alleged involvement in Supreme Court attack case took place in 1997.
The DC, during the course of inquiry proceedings, re-examined record of the previous investigations and recorded statements of some police officials including the then moharrar of the Secretariat Police Station who remained part of the investigations in the past. The FIR of the case had been registered at Secretariat Police Station at that time.
