Lahore : Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Senator Sirajul Haq has said the different mafias have been looting the country’s resources for decades like termites, receiving full patronage from the different governments time and again.
Taking to media after addressing in the Senate on Monday, he said the prime minister seemed totally confused and his all claims to put the looter behind the bars proved pack of lies.
The PTI government, he said, was reluctant to act against sugar, flour and petrol mafias, badly disappointing its voters and supporters. He said the economy had almost collapsed even before the outbreak of Covid-19, making millions jobless and multiplying the prices of food items. Therefore, he added, the rulers could not hide their incapability behind the pandemic
outbreak. Amid the situation, he said, the federal budget had been
prepared on the dictation of the IMF, providing no relief to common man and ignoring the health, education and agriculture sectors.
He demanded the prime minister end the VVIP culture and non- developmental expenditure in different ministries. The prime minister, he added, should fulfill his promise to turn the Pakistan Steel Mills a profitable institution. He said the government should announce a plan for the opening of religious seminaries and resume educational activities in the country. He said special incentive was needed for the revival of agriculture sector which was verge of collapse due to the locust attack.
