Lahore : The US Government seeks collaboration with Punjab to enhance the professional capacity of Police and Law & Order personnel.
It was expressed by the Consul General of the United States to Lahore Ms. Colleen Gram Wells during a meeting with the Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Local Government Muhammad Basharat Raja at his office on Tuesday. She said that the US believed in developing and maintaining smooth relations with the friend states in the best interest of the public. She expressed keen interest in the reforms based agenda of the Punjab Government.
The Minister welcoming US offer for cooperation, said that the Punjab Government was taking solid steps to improve the efficiency of Police, Education, Local Government and Health sector. He said,”We are working with the Supreme Court of Pakistan and Federal Government to introduce new Police Reforms that may cater to the public needs effectively.
While to improve civic services, new Local Government Law is on cards, possibly to be tabled in Punjab Assembly during its next session.” Basharat Raja said that the Punjab Government was striving to bring real change in each sector in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief Minister Punjab.
He told that the Punjab Assembly was making remarkable legislation to supplement this vision.
