Government has failed to perform according to its manifesto : Siraj ul Haq

Lahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has  said that the government had demonstrated its short sightedness by not inviting the political leadership on the occasion of the Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to the country.

Talking to the media after addressing the JI central workshop for party workers at Mansoora, he said that the Saudi crown Prince was the guest of Pakistan and not of any political party and if the national leadership had been present to welcome the royal guest, it would have enhanced the honour of the  government itself.

Sirajul Haq said that the Saudi Crown Prince had started his campaign against  corruption from his own home as a result of which an amount of 137 billion dollars had been deposited in the public exchequer. On the other hand, he said, the PTI government had not been able to recover even a single penny of the plundered wealth during the last six months. He said that as long as the rulers did not begin this campaign from their own home, the general public would consider it a mere formality.

Referring to the threats from Indian Prime Minister Modi and Indian army chief to the country,  Sirajul Haq said that if India committed a blunder this time, its own existence would be in danger and it would become a part of history.

He further said that if India wanted to escape disaster, it should withdraw its troops form Kashmir immediately or else it would meet the fate the Soviet Union and the US had met in Afghanistan.

The JI chief said that New Delhi had come down to threats against this country after the killing of its fifty troops whereas the Indian troops in Held Kashmir had martyred lakhs of innocent Kashmiris so far. He said there was an armed Indian soldier outside every single house in Held Kashmir. The Indian army had deprived thousands of Kashmiri young men of their eyesight while dozens of Kashmiris were being martyred daily. He said that if New Delhi did not give up its intransigence, it would end up in total disaster.

Commenting on the government’s performance, Sirajul Haq said that if the government assessed its performance with reference to its election manifesto, it would find a clear failure. He said the government had collected billions in aid from different countries but no relief had been given to the masses.

He said that millions of educated and talented young men were unemployed and more than sixty per cent of the cultivable land was lying uncultivated  nut none of the governments so far had made any plans to bring this land under the plough and to create jobs for the youth.

Sirajul Haq said the PPP, the Muslim League and the PTI joined hands to protect the secular agenda. The PTI which had promised the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui free from the US jail, but instead, it had freed Christian women Aasia Masih. These three parties got also united against a ban on liquor. He said that the Hindus, Sikhs and Christians were saying that liquor was prohibited but the Muslim rulers were arguing that liquor was essential for health.

Sirajul Haq clarified that the JI had no enmity towards anyone as it was only fighting for the supremacy of Deen.
