Lahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Siraj ul Haq, has said that if the government took another U- turn and brought the prices of essential items on the level of prices on the 25th of July last year, the masses would be highly indebted to them. He said the government was not ready to cut down its spending and the liife style of the rulers and their protocol remained unchanged. On tht other hand, he said, the cabinet was being expanded every second day. He said that in the beginning, much propaganda was made on the austerity of the rulers but everything had returned to routine of the past regimes.
Siraj ul Haq further said that despite tall claims of accountability, there had been no recoveries. He said that as long as the looted property was not return to the public exchequer, the nation would not gain anything from the NAB’s activities.
He said that if the plundered money amounting to 375 billion dollars was returned to the public exchequer, the government would not need IMF bailout or for financial help from some other country.
Siraj ul Haq said that the government had so far not formally claimed damages of the terror war from the US and NATO amounting to 124 billion dollars caused to the country in the war on terror. He said that the government was admitting that the country had suffered heavily in this war.
