Lahore : Parliamentary delegation of China headed by Vice-Chairman Standing Committee of See Chuan, Provincial Peoples’ Congress Chen Wenhua visited Punjab Assembly. The delegation called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervaiz Elahi at the Assembly Chambers here today (Friday) and views about matters of mutual interest were exchanged during the meeting which lasted for some time.
Apprising the visiting delegation about the government priorities, the Speaker said that the Punjab Government is doing impressive planning for elimination of illiteracy, backwardness and poverty and provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the people.
The Speaker also apprised the delegation about the structure of the assembly, parliamentary traditions and the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly.
The Speaker said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the best gift from China to Pakistan, this project of more than 46 billion dollars will not strengthen economies of Pakistan and China but also of other countries of the region.
Ch Pervaiz Elahi expressed the hope that Punjab province’s relations with See Chuan province will be further consolidated in future. The delegation also visited the library and other sections of the Provincial Assembly.
Mr Chen Wenhua said that we much value the sentiments of love and sincerity from people of Pakistan for China. He also felicitated Ch
Pervaiz Elahi for victory in 2018 election and elected as the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
On this occasion, Consul General of China Mr Long Dingbin, Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Senior Secretary Rai Mumtaz Hussain Babar and Director General Parliamentary Affairs Inayatullah Lak were also present.
