PFA fines KFC Bhera on substandard operations

Lahore : The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday conducted a massive operation to crack down on unhygienic food points on the route of Lahore to Islamabad Motorway.

Food safety teams, under the supervision of Director General PFA Captain (R) Muhammad Usman visited the kitchens of several restaurants for inspecting food safety measures and dealt an iron hand with violators.The restaurants and fast food points were checked in the areas of Bhera, Chakri and Kalar Kahar.

Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said that PFA has closed down Simply Sufi Fast Food due to use expiry cooking oil, improper cleanliness arrangements and other violations of PFA Act in the service area of Bhera.He further said that KFC Bhera Franchise was penalized with Rs50,000 fine over failure to maintain the hygiene working environment.
