Horse trading in the elections damaged Senate : Sirajul Haq

Lahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the horse trading in the Senate elections had damaged the image of the upper house and the other party in the deal should also be searched out.

Talking to the media after attending a dinner hosted in his honour by Pir Khawaja Israr ul Haq Chishti Nizami, at DHA, he said that “Lota-cracy (turncoats) had defamed democracy in the country. He said that any attempt to seek purification through dirty waters could never succeed.

Criticizing acute power shortage in Karachi, Sirajul Haq urged the people of Karachi to support the JI for ending the hold of darkness in the port city.

Sirajul Haq said that the people of Pakistan had not seen true democracy during the last seventy years as the rule of the people in the country simply meant rule of the feudal lords, vaderas and capitalists.

He said that true accountability was not expected even now as only aerial firing was going so far. If Pakistan is to be made corruption free, around six thousand plunderers would have to be sent to jail, he added.

The JI chief said that only the Ulema, Mashaikh and religious leaders and men of  integrity could provide an honest and true leadership to the country. He said that if the political parties wanted end of corruption, they would not try the plunderers again.

Sirajul Haq said that the  next elections were of great importance so far as the national unity and solidarity of the country was concerned.  Therefore, he said, the masses would have to reject the land mafia, sugar mafia and drug mafia. He said that all those who had been  named in the Panama leaks, Dubai leaks and London leaks could not be given another chance.

Khawaja Israr ul Haq Chishti also spoke on the occasion.
