Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated CT Scan Center and Hepatitis Filter Clinic at Sheikhupura

Lahore : Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has inaugurated CT Scan Center and Hepatitis Filter Clinic at District Headquarters Hospital, Sheikhupura and visited both centers afterwards.

He also inspected CT Scan Machine and had a conversation with the staff. He expressed delight over the installation of latest CT scan machine and congratulated the staff also examined various parts of hepatitis filter clinic.

CM was informed that about 80 patients visit this clinic daily who are provided with medicines and free treatment. Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Care Ali Jan briefed CM about CT Scan Center and hepatitis filter clinic.

While talking to media, the Chief Minister said that he congratulates people of Sheikhupura on the furnishing, renovation and setting up of various new fields in DHQ hospital.

Hepatitis filter clinic has also been set up in this hospital where 70 to 80 patients on average are being treated daily. Hepatitis patients are being given free medicines. He said that it is the first time in Pakistan’s history that high-quality medicines are being provided to the patients in public hospitals, the same high-quality medicines that are used by Elites. In these hospitals, common man is receiving the same medicine that is used by Governor, Chief Minister and other high-ups, he added.

CM said that they have been able to supply high-quality medicines to these hospitals due to the hard work of day-night. He said that Punjab government is installing latest CT scan machines in all districts of the province where patients will get 24 hours CT scan facility free of charge.

He said that Punjab Government has brought revolution in health sector and facilities are being provided to people at their doorsteps. A new system is being introduced to operate CT scan machines that will work 24 hours and no one will be able to damage machines intentionally. He said that these machines of CT scan are being installed at all district hospitals and Punjab government has signed an agreement with manufacturers of CT-Scan machines. Now patients do not have to suffer for CT scan as no one will give the excuse that machine is out of order neither the patients have to pay 5000 rupees for it as we have buried the old system, he shared.

Moreover he added that we have made true the dream which was visualized 02 years. He said that 20 CT Scan machines have arrived out of which 15 have been installed and rest are being installed more quickly. Likewise, 22 hepatitis filter clinics are being established at DHQs hospitals. The filter clinic and children’s ward are also set up at Sheikhupura Hospital.

He said that its renovation is going on rapidly and this project is to be completed soon. Physiotherapy has also been arranged in the hospital. He said that this hospital will be like European hospitals and here patients will get quality medical facilities.

He said that we have taken unprecedented steps in the health sector in the past four and a half years and has brought a true revolution in the health sector. In the last four and a half years, 26 hospitals at the level of Secondary Level and 15 at primary level have been made and 8 thousand beds have been added to government hospitals. Through mobile hospitals, treatment and diagnostic facilities are given to remote areas at their doorsteps. 20 mobile hospitals are functional while 20 more hospitals are coming soon.

He said that 180 operation theaters have been constructed in the hospitals while 452 ventilators have been installed on the bed in the same manner 5 MRI machines have been installed. He said that 4 State of the Art Burn Center are also functional.

He said that although we have taken concrete steps to improve the health sector, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Insha Allah, we will continue to work for improvement of health sector as the development can be achieved only through a healthy society. In response to a question of media, CM said that NAB is a constitutional institution and it has the right to investigate corruption.

He said that we respect it and cherish the rule of law that is why I myself appeared in NAB office however this office should also fulfill its responsibility not only by figuring wrong deeds but also through appreciating good work so that people may get know about it. Good officers should be praised for work, but corruption should be taken into account sternly.

In response to another question, he said that the Punjab government has taken exemplary measures in the health sector. Several new hospitals have been made to provide latest treatment facilities to the community.

He said that patients with liver diseases will no longer have to go abroad for treatment but they will be treated free of cost at Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant institute. This is a revolution that we have brought in health sector. Similarly, facilities are being improved at basic health centers.
