Lahore : 63rd Pakistan Railways Inter Divisional Athletic Championships concluded here at Railway Stadium, Lahore. About 350 Athletes from members units of Pakistan Railways Sports Board Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Workshops, Multan, Sukkur, Karachi competed for top honours.
Khawaja Saad Rafiq Federal Minister for Railways was Chief Guest and awarded to prizes to winners along with Javed Anwar, CEO/Sr. General Manager Railways, Muhammad Tahir (General Manager/W&SI) President Pakistan Railway Sports Board, Prof. Dr. Farhan Ebadat Yar Khan Vice President Pakistan Railways Sports Board, Dr. Aftab Iqbal Ch. Secretary General Pakistan Railways Sports Board, Rashad Mahmood Butt Sports Officer Pakistan Railways Sports Board in addition to all the Principal Officers of Pakistan Railways were present in the Stadium to back up the athletes on their performances.
Multan Division retained the Athletic Trophy securing 288 Points, Lahore Division obtained Runners Up Trophy with 168 points, followed by Workshops Divisions 99 Points, Karachi 35, Sukkur 34, Peshawar 6, Rawalpindi 3. Hamza of Lahore Division Declared Fastest Man of the Meet by Winning 100M (10.83 Sec), Miss. Khadija From Multan Division Fatest Girl of the Meet by Winning 100M (13.06 Sec). Ali Zaryab Asif, International Cricketer Declared Best Sportsmen of the Year 2017-18 and also Miss. Zaib-un-Nisa International Women Hockey Player declared Best Sportswomen of the Year 2017-18.
Workshops Division retained the General Trophy for Over all best Performance in Sports Activities During the Year 2017-18 and Runners-up Trophy to over all best performance. Before the award of the trophies Prof. Dr. Ebadat Yar Khan Vice President Pakistan Railways Sports Board presented the report of activities of the Board during the past years.
