Lahore : Secretary General of the Jamaat e Islami Women wing, Dr Durdana Siddiqui, and JI MNA Dr Aysha Syed, have strongly condemned the failure of the government in tracing Zainab’s killers even after the passage of a week.
Addressing a press conference at Mansoora on Tuesday, they said that the masses had lost trust in the police and the security agencies. They said the most heinous incident had made the mothers to have sleepless nights and they were hesitant in sending their minor ones out of homes. The society at large felt total insecure because of the police failure to nab the culprits, they said. They demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and grant of exemplary punishment to them.
They said that the rulers were simply cared about their own security and were least worried about the public.
Dr Aysha Syed said that if the laws were implemented faithfully, nobody could usurp the rights of any body. She said that harsh laws and stringent punishments were needed to control crimes against children.
However, she said that the rulers themselves did not abide by the laws and that was why, the crime in the society had increased.
