Lahore : Minister Food Punjab Bilal Yaseen has visited district Sargodha and inspected 3 sugar mills to ensure procurement of sugarcane on per notified prices, today.
During the visit of various sites he also checked many weighing scales and ordered to seal 9 weighing scales for purchasing sugarcane on low rates while lodging of FIRs against 5 others were also ordered.
The minister also chaired joint meeting of district administration and sugarcane peasants and assured that Punjab government was committed to defend interests of cultivator. “ Rates per mound were Rs.180 and there will be no compromise on notified prices and government stance in this regard is very clear”, he said.
Bilal Yaseen said that purchase of spare stock by Trading Corporation of Pakistan is under consideration and “ rumors of reduction in sugarcane prices were baseless”.
