Lahore : Provincial minister for Sports and Youth affairs has said that our youth has so much potential, if provided with opportunity their success knows no bounds. Govt of Punjab is providing larger prospects to the youth in form of educational scholarships, skills development, technical and professional training and of course sports activities.
He expressed these views while addressing the First International Conference held by Lahore Garrison University Lahore, regarding “Emerging Social and Mental Health Issues in Society”.
Jahangir Khanzada further said that we are strongly endorsing advancement not only in building infrastructures but also in the field of education. Now our educational institutes are promoting the environment for research and analysis to broaden the vision of students and enhance their abilities to adopt a more practical approach towards the social and intellectual problems.
He said that our police including other law and order enforcement departments are effectively fighting against terrorism. We have many achievements in this regard and I am confident regarding peace full future of our beloved dear homeland.
He further said that as he hold the Ministry of Sports and youth affairs, he believes that sports are more effective solution of many social and psychological issues such as aggression which resulted on terrorism.
He congratulated the Vice Chancellor Obaid Bin Zakir to holding the university ‘s first ever international conference on social and psychological issues and advised the students that no matter what people say, no matter what image of Pakistan, the international media portrays, you people are torch bearers for the future of Pakistan. So be patience, concentrate on your studies, work hard and prove the world that we are the most peace full nation in the world.
Ex Lord Mayor Dr. Shoukat Nawaz Khan while addressing the conference said that misuse of technology, unemployment and worse relationships are the main causes of rapidly increasing psychological and social issues.
Professor Dr Rukhsana kosar and Dr Bilal Sufi also expressed their views regarding emerging social and mental health issues in Society.
Vice chancellor Major General (R) Obaid Bin Zakria thanked the Minister to visit the University and encourage the students.
