Lahore : Orientation Ceremony of 6th Medical Session was held here at Ameer Uddin Medical College where ex-Principal Prof. Tariq Salah Uddin was the chief guest while Principal PGMI Prof. Dr. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab presided over the function.
Addressing the students and parents, Prof. Tariq Salah Uddin said that in the minimum time Ameer Uddin Medical College has secured remarkable position and its credit goes to team and students of the college who have set new trends for the newcomers.
In his address, Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab said that those parents are lucky whose children wear white coat and take responsibility to serve the ailing humanity in a befitting manner.
He asked the students that this field is not only a profession but a mission and they all should study with special zeal and fervor as nation has many hopes from them and they have to come up to these expectations of their parents as well as of the government.
Principal in his address claimed that Ameer Uddin Medical College has the entity of Post Graduate Medical Institute and we have capable faculty here which embrace the students with good quality education.
Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab said that now in this medical college not only from Pakistan but from other countries students take part in studies and they play the role as ambassador of this institution. He said that in the merit of MBBS and annual results Ameer Uddin Medical College has significant position which is again an honour for all of us.
He further told that this medical college is associated with Lahore General Hospital which is 1000 to 1600 bedded working for the medical students over there.
Talking to media, chief guest Prof. Dr. Tariq Salah Uddin said that Punjab Government has set such priorities which include health and education at the top and in this medical institute these both sectors have become together.
He said that Chief Minister Punjab took a historic initiative by starting Ameer Uddin Medical College in 2012 which has set its position in the line of medical education at national as well as international level.
He congratulated the team of this medical college and wished them further success in this field. In the orientation ceremony the students of 6thMBBS session took their professional study oath and expressed determination to take part in their education with the national duty and social obligation.
Other than students their parents were also present in a large number while “White Coat Ceremony” was also held in this function in which all students took part.
