Minister Health distributes Khidmat Award

Lahore : Provincial Minister for Primary & Secondary Healthcare Khawaja Imran Nazir has said that dedicated and hard working officers and other staff are the crown of our head and added that the government will encourage the officials performing their duties diligently at every tier. 

He expressed these views while addressing Sehat Khidmat Award ceremony which held at the conference room of Town Hall today to encourage the best performing officers and officials of the District Health Authority Lahore.

The ceremony was also attended by DC Lahore Syed Sumair Ahmed, Lord Mayor Mubashar Javed, CEO Health Dr. Yadullah, Deputy Mayors as well as officers and officials of the Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department. Certificates and cheques were distributed among 68 employees including doctors, nurses, ward boys, nannies and officials of the janitorial services.

Kh. Imran Nazir said that Sehat Khidmat Award has been started on the direction of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to create a sense of positive competition in the health department for help improving the working of the public sector hospitals.

This will also help to mitigate different diseases as well as giving protection to crores of children against different diseases by improving the immunization coverage, he added.

He said that no organization can be made fully vibrant without a system of punishments and rewards for the employees. Encouragement of officers and other staff is equally important so that they could continue showing good performance and help improve the service delivery mechanism of the hospitals.

This encourages the staff to excel in performance which directly benefits the people, he added.

The function was also addressed by Lord Mayor Mubashar Javed and DC Syed Sumair Ahmed.

Meanwhile, a delegation of lady health workers led by Sajida Hameed, Samina Naaz and Shehnaz Akhtar called on the Provincial Minister Kh. Imran Nazir, here today and apprised him of their problems.

The Minister categorically made it clear that the government is not going to privatize any of the hospitals nor the employees of health department are going to be relieved of their jobs.

He said that Punjab Health Facilities Management Company is a public sector entity whose staff is government employees having equal rights as like other government servants.
