General Sadiq Ali calls on CM Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore : Corps Commander Lahore Lt. Gen. Sadiq Ali paid a farewell call on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today.

The Chief Minister paid tributes to the services of Lt. Gen. Sadiq Ali for rendering his duties in a professional manner as Corp Commander Lahore. He also expressed good wishes for his future responsibilities.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said the nation is proud of brave armed forces of Pakistan who have written a new history in war against terrorism. He said that the officers and jawans of Pak Army have rendered invaluable services for setting peace and due to the blood of the martyrs; the peace is maintained in Pakistan today.

He said that wonderful successes have been achieved in war against terrorism due to the concurred decisions made by political and military leadership and added that this war is a battle of survival of Pakistan which will be won through the power of unity and collective efforts.

Meanwhile ;  Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited the camp office of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) at Kamahan and inspected the progress being made on the project of Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop, today.

He also met with Director General FWO Lt. Gen. Muhammad Afzal and presided over a high-level meeting at the camp office. DG FWO along with other high officials, Commissioner and DC Lahore and other officers were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government is working on different projects of providing latest transport facilities to the masses with a cost of billions of rupees and added that a comprehensive programme is being implemented to provide best of the best transport facilities to the people. The southern loop project is an important progress in this regard, he added. The FWO is speedily working on Ring Road Southern Loop.

He observed that improvement in transport means promote socio-economic activities and the completion of this project will also boost such activities along with the provision of latest transport facilities to the people.

He said speed and quality of the construction work is the best and added that horticulture should be promoted on both sides of the road and modern technology be utilized for the signboards to be fixed for the benefit of the people.

He said the completion of 22.4 km long southern loop will facilitate the people and the traffic system will also be sufficiently improved.

The Chief Minister was given a detailed briefing about the progress on the project.

Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the camp office of the FWO at Kamahan and held a meeting with the DG to discuss the progress on Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop and other projects.
