DPOs to personally care the families of the martyred : IGP capt Arif Nawaz

Lahore : Inspector General of Police Punjab Captain ® Arif Nawaz Khan has directed to ensure close monitoring of welfare policy of all districts of the province at Central Police Office so that problems being faced by the families of martyrs and the widows and heirs of those police employees who died during service could be solved on priority basis.

While addressing a high level meeting at Central Police Office on Friday, he directed all the DPOs to personally meet the families of martyrs and widows and heirs of those employees who died during service, once in a month in their respective jurisdiction and solve their problems on priority.

 Addl: IGP Operations Punjab, Mohsin Hassan Butt, Addl: IGP D & I, Ejaz Hussain Shah, Addl: IGP Special Branch Punjab, Faisal Shahkar, Addl: IGP Investigation Punjab, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Operations Punjab, Amir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Headquarters Punjab, B.A. Nasir, , DIG Special Branch Punjab, Zaeem Sheikh, DIG R & D, Ahmad Ishaque Jehangir, DIG PHP, Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, DIG Welfare, Waseem Ahmad Khan Sial, DIG IT, Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Operations, Waqar Abassi, AIG Monitoring, Ahsan Younas, AIG Legal, Rana Ilyas and other senior officers attended the meeting.

IG directed to implement the welfare policy issued by the Central Police Office in letter and spirit and said that suggestions to further improve the welfare policy would be encouraged.
He directed all RPOs and DPOs to personally supervise the matters pertaining to welfare branch so that chances of any delay in welfare’s cases could be avoided. He said that educational expenses and scholarship of martyrs’ children should be continued without any hindrance.

Arif Nawaz said that mobile phone application ‘Welfare Eye’ meant for the families of the policemen who laid down their lives in the line of duty in getting their benefits should be introduced in other districts as well.

DIG Welfare informed the IG that Rs 887.12 million from Welfare Fund had been distributed among the police employees and their families during the current year for financial assistance, scholarship, dowry fund and other allowances.
