Threats to the JIT are threats to Supreme Court : Ch Shujaat Hussain

Lahore : Former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain has said that the government is giving threats to JIT treating it as a investigation institution but that is not investigating institution but the Supreme Court.

He said that threats to the JIT amount to direct threat to the Supreme Court.

He said this while responding to questions from journalists at “Rasm-e-Qul” of Col ® Amjad Hussain, father of Pakistan Muslim League Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Syed Mowahid Shah and Mujahid Hussain here this (Thursday) evening.

In reply to a question, he said that in the Panama case two judges have not given dissenting note but verdict against Nawaz Sharif.

Ch Shujaat Hussain said that with the headway in the proceedings of the JIT, opposition’s strategy will also come to the fore.

Replying to a question about opposition parties’ alliance, Ch Shujaat Hussain said that two or three candidates for prime minister-ship are the obstruction in the way of alliance. He said only Almighty Allah knows better as who will be the prime minister in 2018.

About unification of Muslim League factions, he said that he has been trying to unify the Muslim League factions, real Muslim League is Pakistan Muslim League which is registered with the Election Commission.

He also condemned torture and violence on the journalists in Faisalabad.

Those who attended Qul ceremony included former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi, Iran’s Consul General Nabi Asadi, Ch Javed Elahi, Shafay Hussain, Salik Hussain, Dr Khalid Ranjha, Afrasiab Khattak, Mujibur Rahman Shami, Munir A. Khan, Mian Afzal Hayat, Mian Imran Masood, Mian Haroon Masood, Sheikh Umar Hayat, G. M. Sikander, Shaukat Ali, Bilal Mustafa Sheerazi and large number of social and political leaders.
