Lahore : PTI leader and former Punjab Governor Ch. Muhammad Sarwar, called on the acting Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, at Mansoora on Wednesday, and discussed with him the international situation besides the national affairs.
The two leaders condemned the threats being given by the ministers and ruling party leaders to the JIT and their statements of not accepting the JIT report and the court decisions. They were however confident that the entire nation stood behind the Supreme Court and it was not possible for the rulers to go against any decision of the apex court.
JI deputy chief Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, Deputy Secretary General, Azhar Iqbal Hasan, Muhammad Asghar and Syed Waqas Anjam Jaafery were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a Christian delegation headed by Bishop Nadeem Francis and Father Andrews Alexander called on the JI acting chief at his residence and greeted him on the holy month of Ramzan and the Eidul Fitr, on behalf of the Pop’s council for Inter-faith dialogue Vatican city.
